Technical Project & Systems Coordinator

 

Position Summary:

Big Dutchman, Inc. located in Holland, MI provides a complete line of poultry, egg, and swine production equipment around the world. With 85 years of experience, Big Dutchman is the global leader in the development of new technology for the industry. We are currently looking for a Technical Project Coordinator to primarily review sales documentation of new projects and the coordination process of identifying part numbers and quantities required for order entry. The initial focus will be on US and Canadian EBU projects. Also helps support the optimization and effective use of the Big Dutchman quotation software system. Responsibilities:

 

  • Interface with various departments including Sales, Estimating, Sales Coordinators, Engineering, Article Management and Purchasing to prepare accurate material list for order entry.
  • Assist in reviewing outputs from other Technical Coordinators for accuracy.
  • Recommend changes in procedures, standards and guidelines as needed.
  • Coordinate “as sold” project drawing updates.
  • Be sensitive to deadlines required to meet project schedule requirements.
  • Lead optimization for standard quotes/offers using current quotation system (CAMOS).
  • Push implementation of regional products into the CAMOS system.
  • Develop feedback loop from quote/offer to order to maintain proper system use.
  • Serve as a consultant on all special quotes/offers requests.
  • Close the loop and monitor product structures to ensure accuracy of BOM’s, CAMOS and other interfaces.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales to adapt things like text for quotes/offers or other content and issue tickets leading to continuous improvement.
  • Other duties assigned as needed.

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum 2-year technical associates degree.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a technical sales-oriented business   environment.
  • Understand how to read part drawings and project house drawings.
  • Process thinker and excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with quotation configuration systems a plus.
  • Must possess technical aptitude and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate across people and functions.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
