Senior Accountant
The Treasury / AP-AR / Credit Analyst (LATAM) will ensure strong day-to-day execution and continuous improvement of cash flow management, treasury operations, accounts payable and receivable, and credit & collections across LATAM. The role is highly cross-functional and bank-facing, with a focus on forecast accuracy, working capital discipline, compliance, and process standardization in a multi-country environment.
Key Responsibilities
Cash Flow & Working Capital
- Manage short- and mid-term cash flow: forecasting, scenario planning, variance analysis, and weekly/monthly cash positioning.
- Plan and optimize payments and collections to support liquidity and working capital targets.
- Prepare cash flow reports and insights for Finance leadership and business stakeholders.
Treasury Operations
- Execute treasury routines: payment scheduling and release according to approval matrix, bank balance control, cash positions, due dates, and financial calendar.
- Maintain operational interface with banks: bank account maintenance, signatories, master data updates, daily follow-ups, and issue resolution.
- Support implementation and monitoring of treasury controls (e.g., segregation of duties, approval workflows).
Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Execute and continuously improve AP/AR routines: document validation, postings, bank reconciliations, and clearing.
- Coordinate collections activities, customer follow-ups, and negotiation of payment agreements.
- Monitor AR aging, dispute resolution status, and drive actions to reduce overdue balances.
Credit & Risk
- Support the Credit Policy: credit analysis and risk assessment, definition/update of credit limits and guarantees, periodic reviews, and exposure monitoring.
- Track delinquency trends and propose mitigation strategies (guarantees, renegotiations, settlement plans).
- Partner with Sales and Customer Service to balance commercial growth with risk control.
Contracts, Closing & Compliance
- Administer and monitor key financial/commercial contract terms (payment clauses, guarantees, validity, and SLAs) in coordination with Controlling/Legal.
- Support month-end closing: reconciliations, supporting schedules, variance analysis, and data quality checks.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, internal controls, audit requirements, and applicable regulations; support internal/external audits.
Process & Systems Improvement
- Drive improvements in ERP and automation (workflows, templates, reporting), and track operational KPIs (e.g., forecast accuracy, overdue %, DSO, on-time payments).
- Maintain governance of customer/vendor master data, banking details, and payment terms; ensure data integrity and privacy compliance (e.g., LGPD where applicable).
LATAM Collaboration (Language-Critical)
- Act as a key finance partner across LATAM, requiring strong communication in English and/or Spanish for regional alignment, shared services interaction, and coordination with banks and internal stakeholders across multiple countries.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related fields.
Experience (Mid–Senior)
- Solid experience in Treasury, AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and month-end closing.
- Strong hands-on background in cash flow forecasting, collections, delinquency management, and credit analysis/credit limit management.
- Proven experience dealing with banks and banking routines (payments, account maintenance, daily controls).
Tools & Knowledge
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, TOTVS, or similar) and advanced Excel.
- Familiarity with internal controls, compliance, and audit practices.
- Knowledge of data privacy requirements related to financial/master data (e.g., LGPD in Brazil) is a plus.
Languages (Important)
- English and/or Spanish: professional working proficiency required (must be able to run meetings, negotiate, and write emails).
